Rooost charity initiative on International Charity Day

The International Day of Charity was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 and is an international day observed annually on 5 September. The prime purpose of the International Day of Charity is to raise awareness and provide a common platform for charity related activities all over the world for individuals and organisations locally, nationally, regionally and internationally.
To celebrate this day, Rooost is aligning its advertising budget to the Bobby Moore Fund (Cancer Research) every month!
Head of Strategy, Ken Walters added, “Earlier this year, Rooost chose the Bobby Moore Fund as our charity to support. We have since undertaken a couple of initiatives like, ‘Wear your football shirt to work day’ and the ‘Rooost Ironman Triathlon Challenge’ – to raise money for this worthy cause. From September, we will be converting the company's American Express points – generated by our advertising activity – to cash and donating it to the charity every month”. Ken added, “As an business that utilises digital marketing to generating new business, this initiative will generate a regular monthly donation ”
Bobby Moore was just fifty-one years old when he died. Shortly after his death in 1993, Bobby’s widow Stephanie Moore OBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund as a restricted fund of Cancer Research UK to raise money for pioneering bowel cancer research.
Since Bobby’s death, thanks to the generosity of supporters the fund has raised more than £30m and seen mortality rates for bowel cancer fall by more than 30%.
However, with forty-six people losing their life to the disease every day in the UK, the fund still has a long way to go.
