Luke was born in Bedford and grew up in Rugby, Warwickshire. As a teenager (and whilst still at school) he enjoyed playing Rugby and competed as a swimmer to county standard. It was around this time, he got a Saturday job helping out at a local estate agent to earn some extra pocket money and to fund his hobbies – and this is where his passion for property began. 

When he left school, he acquired an apprenticeship at the estate agency he had been working at and quickly progressed to being a valuer – which is a role that he held for three years. It was whilst in this role, he identified a business opportunity – property management. In 2017, he started a small part-time business managing properties for clients who let their properties – and this developed to include properties that were local to him and let through Airbnb. This quickly developed into a thriving business and he quit working for the Estate Agency and began focusing on developing the business 

After a year, it became clear that this was an opportunity that could be very lucrative. In particular, for the corporate clients that he was getting enquiries for – that included property sourcing as well as general property management whilst the contractor was on assignment. 

The company quickly became renowned for great service and quality and the largest within the midlands – and a small portfolio of clients and a database of accommodation providers who understood the demands of business accommodation requirements developed. It was around this time, he recruited his school mate, Ben – who also worked in the industry.

Just prior to the COVID-19 pandemic hitting these shores, Luke sold the business and he and the team took some time out. It was during this time that the concept of Rooost – a business accommodation provider and relocation specialist that focuses on the well-being of the contractor whilst on assignment (and not just the property sourcing and management) – came about. In the summer of 2022, Rooost was incorporated and, through his network, Ken joined the team to help with the strategic direction of the company.

Luke still regularly competes in swimming galas, but it is his entrepreneurial spirit that is driving the business to new heights every month!
